Distributed: 20,000 lbs. of locally grown produce to CalFresh shoppers

Amount diverted into new local economy: $142,000

Since April 2021, we’ve provided an estimated total of 10,000 pounds of locally grown and organic produce to low-income Skid Row residents through Farm Fresh LA, a program of Healthy Neighborhood Network via Los Angeles Food Policy Council. This program supports the development of local food and economic networks of low-income immigrant communities of color.

Every dollar received in CalFresh benefits is spent in the local economy, which is why this benefit also has a economic stimulus effect.”
